Privacy Policy
The short version
- Your shopping lists, recipes, meal logs, and weight are yours, and sync only to you.
- We never sell or rent your personal data.
- We collect the minimum needed to run the app, plus anonymous diagnostics to fix bugs.
- You can export or permanently delete everything at any time.
This policy explains what information Kitchergo (“Kitchergo,” “we,” “us”) collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We've written it in plain language. If anything here is unclear, please reach out — we're happy to explain.
01Information we collect
Information you create in the app
Kitchergo is built around the content you add. Depending on how you use it, this can include:
- Shopping lists — items, quantities, categories, and your chosen store or aisle preferences.
- Recipes — titles, ingredients, steps, and any notes or photos you add.
- Meal logs & nutrition — meals you record and their nutritional values (calories, protein, carbs, fat).
- Body metrics — weight entries, if you choose to log them.
- Account details — if you create an account to sync across devices, your email address and authentication details.
Information collected automatically
To keep the app reliable, we collect a small amount of technical information:
- Device & app data — device model, operating system version, and app version.
- Diagnostics — anonymized crash reports and performance data that help us find and fix problems.
02How we use your information
We use the information above only to:
- Provide the core features — your lists, recipes, meals, and macro tracking.
- Sync your content across your devices, if you turn sync on.
- Diagnose crashes, improve performance, and make the app better.
- Respond to your support requests.
- Protect against fraud, abuse, and security threats.
We never sell your nutrition, weight, or recipe content.
03Storage & sync
Your content is stored securely with our hosting provider so it can sync across the devices where you're signed in. Data is encrypted in transit between your device and our servers.
We rely on a small number of trusted infrastructure providers — for example [cloud hosting provider] for sync storage and [crash-reporting provider] for diagnostics. These providers process data on our behalf under agreements that restrict them to that purpose.
05Health & nutrition data
We treat the meals, macros, and weight you log as sensitive personal information. This data is private to you and used only to power the features you asked for. Recipes are different — you can choose to share them publicly in Discover, but that is always opt-in and entirely your call. We do not sell any of your data to advertisers or data brokers, and where the app connects to a platform health service (such as Apple Health or Google Fit), that connection is optional and only happens with your explicit permission.
06Your choices & rights
You have control over your information. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access & export your data in a portable format.
- Correct information that's inaccurate.
- Delete your data permanently, including your account.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
You can delete individual items at any time within the app, and remove everything by deleting your account or uninstalling. To make a formal request, contact us at privacy@kitchergo.app. We won't discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
07Data retention
We keep your content for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the app. When you delete an item or your account, we remove it from our active systems promptly and from backups within [30 days]. Anonymized diagnostics that can't be linked to you may be retained to improve the product.
08Children's privacy
Kitchergo is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we'll delete it.
09Security
We use industry-standard safeguards — including encryption in transit and access controls — to protect your information. No method of storage or transmission is ever 100% secure, but we work hard to protect your data and to respond quickly if something goes wrong.
10Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. When we make material changes, we'll update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of Kitchergo after an update means you accept the revised policy.
